Mid Term break announcement

The ministry of education Kenya has finally announced a midterm break for secondary school this second term. The break will start on Friday 19th to Tuesday 23 Nov 2021.

“You are required to bring this information to the attention of all principals of secondary schools within your area of jurisdiction,” principal secretary for Basic Education Dr Julius Jwan said in the letter addressed to regional and county directors of education.

According to the ministry this comes as a break for the students to be with their parents and family because as it were, the term did not have a break and this was to help in the marathon to recover the time lost when the schools took an unusual break away from school due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The announcements comes at a time when there is unrest in many schools across the country, some of which have have burnt and/or destroyed property worth millions of cash and had scores injured in fire incidents.

Just like the ministry of education, we are all hopeful that this will give the students a break from the tight schedule and give them time to refresh.

World stammering awareness day

As we celebrate the world stammering awareness day today, Oct 22 2021, may we seek to know more about this condition, the causes, the remedy, and how to live with people who live with the condition in our society.

Some of these ways to deal with these people includes but not limited to showing love to them, giving them time to communicate without interuption, giving them equal opportunities as others, and understanging their different needs even before they ask for them.

Have a blessed World Stammering Awareness Day

World stammering / stuttering awareness day

International Stammering Awareness Day (ISAD) happens on 22nd October every year. Stammering associations, individuals and groups around the world organise events to mark the day and to raise awareness of stuttering.

Someone once said, “stammering can feel quite like an online buffering
worth the wait. Musharaf Ashgar stammers but it doesn’t matter much. Why? Because what he says is more important than how he says it.” Do you agree?

There are many ways you can celebrate people with stammering/stuttering. From sharing information about this day or their experiences, to supporting such people if they live within your community.

Today you will have many chances to learn more about stammerung and stuttering and to talk about it. Won’t you do it?
